Recording Composite Deck Deliveries by Batch and Zone
A composite deck delivery register links batches to installation zones. It helps manage phased works and later replacements where similar board colours or section shapes make informal identification unreliable.

Selection considerations
Record the code, profile, finish and available batch information on receipt. Compare the delivered items with the approved order before distributing them. Keep deck boards, substructure and accessories separately identified instead of grouping everything under one generic decking description.
Issue materials against the zone and drawing revision where they will be used. Document any approved mixing of batches or substitute components. Retain labels for offcuts intended as spares, because a short piece without identification may be difficult to distinguish from a different profile.
At handover, reconcile quantities and installed locations with the delivery register. Keep the approved finish sample and replacement references together. If a later extension uses a changed profile or colour, record the new zone explicitly so maintenance staff do not assume one spare fits the whole site.
Before you specify or order
- Register profile and finish identities
- Map issues to deck zones
- Document approved substitutions
- Keep spares identifiable

Common question
Can one generic deck code identify all delivered components?
No. Boards, supports and accessories may have different references that should remain linked to their actual locations.
