Corner, stop and movement beads: different plaster details
Select plaster beads by their function within the finish. A corner bead, stop bead and movement bead should not be substituted simply because their flanges look alike.

Selection considerations
Mark exposed corners, finish terminations and designed movement lines on the elevation. Check bead depth against the plaster or render build-up. Confirm material suitability for the interior or exterior condition stated in the specification.
Coordinate how the bead connects to its substrate and adjoining finishes. A movement bead needs an approved location and detail; it does not create an arbitrary joint layout. Inspect alignment before the finish covers the flanges. Order each function and depth as a separate line with its exact product reference.
Before you specify or order
- Label bead function
- Match finish depth and exposure
- Inspect alignment before finishing
